Winter Clothing Distribution Event Organized by Prattasha Samajik Unnayan Sangstha in Collaboration with Global One Bangladesh
On October 30, 2024, Prattasha Samajik Unnayan Sangstha (PSUS), in collaboration with CDD and LL Netherlands, organized a distribution event for assistive devices and medicines for children and youth with disabilities.
The event was graced by Mr. Nazibul Alam, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Chuadanga Sadar, as the Chief Guest. In his speech, he emphasized that individuals with disabilities are not a burden on society; rather, with proper support, they can significantly contribute to the nation’s development. He highlighted the importance of education and training in transforming them into valuable human resources. He also urged the community to work collectively to integrate persons with disabilities into the mainstream, as sustainable development cannot be achieved by leaving anyone behind.
The event was attended by Mr. Nazmul Hossain, Upazila Youth Development Officer, as a Special Guest, along with Mr. Saidur Rahman, Coordinator of PSUS; Mr. Yunus Ali, Program Manager of the Ekota Project; Mr. Asaduzzaman, Mr. Mohibur Habib, and Mr. Arifur Rahman, Assistant Coordinators; and Parents’ Committee members Ms. Hajera Khatun and Ms. Nazma Khatun.
Following the discussions, three (3) wheelchairs, two (2) specialized chairs, medicines for fifty (50) children with Down Syndrome, and medicines for twenty-two (22) individuals with seizure disorders were distributed among the beneficiaries.
This initiative reflects the ongoing commitment to empowering individuals with disabilities and ensuring their active participation in society.
